Handmade with love, every piece tells a story
Scottish Island Jewellery is a proudly independent business that has been creating and selling handmade jewellery since 1995. Based in the charming coastal town of Oban, our Founder Shirley has spent many years honing her craft as a jewellery designer and silversmith. With a NC and HND in Jewellery and Silversmithing from Cardonald College in Glasgow, and a B Des (Hons) Degree in Jewellery and Metalwork from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee, Shirley has an impressive educational background that has served as the foundation for her successful career in the industry.
Today, Shirley runs the business alongside her husband Richard, and together they offer a variety of services, including commission work, repairs, and remodelling. Our remodelling service involves carefully dismantling and reworking gem set jewellery to create contemporary rings, pendants, and earrings. This is an excellent way to give new life to beloved pieces of jewellery, while retaining their sentimental value. Customers are encouraged to be involved in the design process, which often results in the creation of a truly unique piece of jewellery.
Our Services
At Scottish Island Jewellery, we specialise in creating handmade Sterling silver and Gold Scottish Island Jewellery. Our range includes pendants, cufflinks, earrings, tie tacs, and charm bracelets, all available in the shape of Scottish islands such as Skye, Barra, Orkney, Shetland, and Rum. We take pride in the quality of our work and are committed to using traditional techniques and precious metals to create beautiful, long-lasting pieces of jewellery.
All of the jewellery in our shop is handmade to order, and we aim to dispatch orders within 7 days or sooner. We use Royal Mail Special Delivery for safety and next-day service, giving our customers peace of mind and ensuring that their orders arrive quickly and securely.
As well as creating new pieces, we also offer a remodelling service, which involves carefully dismantling and reworking gem set jewellery into contemporary rings, pendants, and earrings. This is an excellent way to give new life to beloved pieces of jewellery, while retaining their sentimental value.
Customers are encouraged to be involved in the design process, which often results in the creation of a completely unique piece of jewellery. We are always happy to talk through ideas and work with our customers to create something truly special.
