At Polperro Heritage Press, we are proud to be an independent British publisher, dedicated to bringing you the best in books that celebrate the rich history and culture of Cornwall. Our story began in 1995, in the picturesque fishing village of Polperro, where our founders were inspired by the region's unique charm and heritage.
Our History
The Polperro Heritage Press was originally established in Polperro, a small but much-visited fishing village on the south coast of Cornwall. Steeped in history and surrounded by steep-sided hills, Polperro receives thousands of visitors every year, many of whom return again and again to enjoy its picturesque harbour setting. In 2000, we transferred to Clifton-upon-Teme in Worcestershire, where we are now run by Managing Editor Jerry Johns, a renowned Cornish local historian and author.
Our Services
We take pride in publishing a diverse range of titles, including biographies, guides, and Cornish local history books. Our authors are passionate about telling the stories that make Cornwall so special, from its smuggling past to its stunning natural beauty. Whether you're a history buff, a lover of literature, or simply someone who loves Cornwall, we have something for everyone.
Our Authors
Our authors are the heart of Polperro Heritage Press, and we're proud to have worked with some of the most talented writers in the region. From Jeremy Rowett Johns, our Managing Editor, to Anabel Loyd, Imogen Skirving, and many more, our authors bring their unique perspectives and expertise to every title we publish.
Our Commitment
At Polperro Heritage Press, we're committed to preserving the rich cultural heritage of Cornwall, and to sharing it with the world. We believe that by telling the stories of this special region, we can inspire a new generation of readers to fall in love with Cornwall, and to cherish its unique history and traditions.
