Antiques By Design is a distinguished company situated in the South East of England, approximately 40 miles East of London in the historic coastal town of Maldon, Essex. Our location, nestled on the River Blackwater, provides us with a unique perspective and inspiration for our work. We specialise in creating beautiful and unique interior and exterior pieces by combining antiques, reclaimed items, and old materials in innovative ways.

Our managing director, Guy Chenevix-Trench, is an accomplished artisan who has been featured on the BBC programme 'Money for Nothing' and 'Celebrity Money for Nothing'. He up-cycles unusual items into designer lighting for the show, showcasing his creativity and expertise in the field.

At Antiques By Design, we pride ourselves on offering a bespoke service tailored to interior designers, hotels, restaurants, and bars. With our extensive sourcing network, we can meet your personal requests and designs, ensuring that your space is unique and distinctive. Reclaimed Mirrors

At Antiques By Design, we specialise in reclaiming and restoring Victorian and Regency iron and traditional wooden windows. These windows are then imaginatively converted into strikingly distinctive decorative mirrors, adding a touch of elegance and charm to any space. Our mirrors are a popular choice for those who appreciate the beauty of antique pieces and the charm of reclaimed materials.

Reclaimed Lighting

Our reclaimed lighting service is a unique offering that allows us to turn your favourite items into beautiful decorative lamps. Whether it's old sports equipment, musical instruments, or tools, we can create bespoke lighting pieces that are both functional and stunning. Our reclaimed sporting and musical memorabilia, antique farming implements, and other unusual and archaic items are handcrafted into luxury lamps and chandeliers of all sizes.

Furniture

We specialise in customising aged galvanised cattle water tanks into console, coffee, kitchen, and pub tables. Our furniture is both functional and stylish, adding a unique touch to any space. We also stock other antique and garden furniture which can be made to order to suit your style and decor.
