Expert Transport Solutions for a Changing World

John Mitchell Haulage and Warehousing is a family-owned business that has been providing transportation and logistics solutions since 1956. The company was established by John Mitchell and has grown to become one of the largest road haulage companies in Scotland, with its headquarters located in Grangemouth, Stirlingshire. Today, the company is managed by Iain Mitchell, who continues to uphold the core values and principles instilled by his late parents.

Our rich history has seen us grow from a one-man operation with a single second-hand Albion lorry to a company with a modern fleet of vehicles and state-of-the-art facilities. Over the years, we have been recognised for our innovation, commitment to excellence, and contribution to the haulage industry, including being awarded the prestigious Motor Transport, UK Haulier of the Year award in 2002.

Our History

John Mitchell started the business in 1956, operating from Grangemouth in Central Scotland. As the business expanded, we moved to a purpose-built three-acre haulage depot with new offices, workshop, and storage facilities at Earls Road in Grangemouth in 1973. Continued growth saw us acquire an additional site in Grangemouth in 1990, the Thornbridge Depot, which served us well for over 13 years and allowed us to develop and progress every part of the John Mitchell Haulage and Warehousing operation. In the early 2000s, we purchased a further seven acres of land adjacent to our Earl's Road headquarters and developed it into a state-of-the-art transport base, including a new 80,000 square foot warehouse.
