Fresh from our oven to your door, every day!

At Joe's Bakery, we're proud to have been serving the local community in Bristol for over 150 years. Our bakery has a rich history, and we're committed to continuing the tradition of providing high-quality bread, confectionery, and takeaway services to our customers.

Our History

Our bakery has been a staple of the Gloucester Road community for generations. Founded in the late 19th century, we've had the pleasure of serving local families, workers, students, and passersby who stop for their lunchtime sandwiches and pastries. For the last thirty years, Martin and Jane Hunt have owned and run the bakery, bringing their passion and expertise to every aspect of the business. Today, we're proud to be a leading light in the community, contributing to local events and using traditional baking methods alongside modern artisan techniques.

What We Offer

At Joe's Bakery, we're dedicated to providing our customers with the best possible products and services. Our bakery offers a wide range of fresh bread, made on the premises by skilled bakers using traditional techniques and high-quality ingredients. From classic English bread to artisan sourdough, our bread is baked fresh every day. Our confectionery range is equally impressive, with delicious handcrafted treats made with fine ingredients. And for those on-the-go, our takeaway service offers a variety of sandwiches, pasties, tea, coffee, and cold drinks.

Our Team

Our team is our greatest asset, and we're proud to have a dedicated and passionate team of bakers, confectioners, and shop staff. Martin Hunt, our owner, has over forty years of bakery experience and is renowned for his knowledge and skills. Wayne Thick, our director, has been with us since the age of sixteen and is now responsible for the day-to-day baking process. Jenny Rogers, our director, started in the shopfront and has developed her skills and knowledge over time, taking on responsibility for retail shop management. Together, our team is committed to providing exceptional service and products to our customers.
