Our Lion Academy Trust curriculum, implemented in 2022, reduces teacher workload while enhancing subject knowledge. The Ark SEN Unit
Our specialist SEN unit supports 12 children aged 5-11 with autism, speech and language needs, and social-emotional challenges. Each pupil receives individualised learning plans, sensory integration support, and access to specialist outdoor learning spaces. The unit promotes gradual integration with mainstream classes, aiming for 50% shared timetabled activities with appropriate staff support to foster social inclusion and academic progress.
Pathways Provision
This trauma-informed provision addresses severe social, emotional and mental health needs through three structured pathways: Nurture, Grow and Achieve. Pupils follow a blended curriculum combining Lion Academy Trust resources with NSPCC's PATHS programme, alongside daily mindfulness sessions and outdoor learning. The provision focuses on rebuilding confidence and preparing children for reintegration into mainstream education or transition to special schools when necessary.
