Blackford CE Primary School is a small, rural primary school located in the heart of the Blackford community, just 2 miles north of Carlisle. We are proud to be a church school, with a long history dating back to the 1830s. Our school is next door to our church, St John the Baptist, and we value our status as a church school. However, we welcome pupils and families of all faiths or none.

Our Services

Blackford CE Primary School offers a range of services to support the educational and personal development of our students. Some of the services we offer include:

• Curriculum Provision: We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that is designed to cater to the diverse needs of our students. Our curriculum is structured to provide a solid foundation in core subjects such as English, maths, and science, as well as opportunities for students to explore their creative and practical skills.

• Nursery Provision: We offer up to 30 hours nursery provision for children from the age of 3 to 5 years old. Our nursery provision is designed to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment that is tailored to meet the individual needs of our youngest students.

• Flexible Out-of-Hours Care: We offer flexible out-of-hours care for our students, ensuring that parents have peace of mind knowing that their children are safe and cared for outside of school hours. Our out-of-hours care is available every school day until 5:30pm.

• Breakfast and After-School Clubs: We offer a range of after-school clubs and activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our students. Our clubs and activities are designed to provide opportunities for socialization, teamwork, and skill-building.

Our Facilities

Our school has undergone significant development in recent years, and we are proud to offer a range of modern and well-equipped facilities that support the learning and teaching processes. These facilities include:

• New Classroom and Outdoor Learning Area: Our new classroom and outdoor learning area provide a stimulating and interactive environment for our Early Years and Key Stage 1 children.

• New Main Entrance and Offices: Our new main entrance and offices provide a welcoming and efficient space for parents, students, and staff.

• Large Library: Our large library is fully stocked with a wide range of books and resources that support our curriculum and foster a love of reading in our students.

• Staffroom: Our staffroom is a welcoming space where our staff can relax and recharge during their breaks.
