Coniston House

Coniston House is a splendid 27-bedded residential care home, ideally located in the coastal town of Felixstowe, near its amenities. We take great pride in the exceptional standard of care we provide, which is made possible by our considerate and thoroughly trained staff members, overseen by our experienced and highly qualified Home Manager.

At Coniston House, we offer a variety of activities for our residents to enjoy, such as regular tea dances, film evenings, gardening, and cookery. However, residents are also welcome to spend quiet time if they prefer. We heartily welcome families and friends of our residents, who quickly become part of the Coniston House community. Our strong relationships with local health professionals, GPs, and District Nurses ensure regular chiropodist and hairdresser visits. Our dedicated catering team prepares meals in-house, using fresh local produce for a constantly changing menu. Afternoon tea is always served with delightful home baked cakes.

Statement of Purpose

Our aim is to make Coniston House a comfortable, secure, and enjoyable home for our residents. This is achieved through:

Our Registered Manager, Rose Buckle, has extensive experience and qualifications in working with the elderly and those with dementia. All care staff have either achieved or are studying for their NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, having completed a 20-week training course in Dementia Care. The Home's owner, Rebecca Porter, is a Registered Nurse who specialises in working with people with dementia.

Respite Care

Coniston House offers assistance to those taking care of a relative with dementia. As a specialist dementia care home registered with the Care Quality Commission, we ensure carers' relatives receive the best possible care from trained and qualified staff. Respite care can be booked for a single stay of between 2 days and 3 weeks or multiple short breaks throughout the year. This continuity of care and familiar surroundings enhances the relationship of trust and support between the dementia sufferer and our staff.

We offer a thoughtful and well-planned transition from home to Coniston House, taking the needs of the dementia sufferer into account. Our home is well-equipped, welcoming, and comfortable, with a dedicated and committed team who excel in dementia care.
