At Harbour Primary & Nursery School, we believe that a well-rounded education goes beyond the classroom, and we offer a wide range of extracurricular activities to cater to our students' interests and talents.

Our Curriculum

At Harbour Primary & Nursery School, we follow the National Curriculum of England, and we have designed our unique Harbour Curriculum to ensure that our students receive a well-rounded education. Our curriculum covers essential subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, Art and Design, Computing, Design and Technology, Geography, History, Music, Physical Education, and Modern Foreign Languages (MFL).

Moreover, we have embedded British Values and Social, Moral, Spiritual, and Cultural (SMSC) education into our curriculum. We believe that these values are essential in fostering responsible and active citizens who can contribute positively to society. We have also integrated Children as Leaders and Cultural Capital into the curriculum to provide our students with opportunities for leadership and personal development.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At Harbour Primary & Nursery School, we believe that every child has the right to an education that meets their individual needs. We have a dedicated SEND team that works closely with students, parents, and staff to ensure that students with SEND receive the support they need to succeed. We have a robust SEND policy and provision that cater to students with various needs, including Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Physical and Sensory needs.

Pastoral Support and Emotional Wellbeing

We understand that emotional wellbeing is crucial for learning and development. Therefore, we have a dedicated pastoral support team that works closely with students, parents, and staff to address any emotional or social issues that may arise. We have a strong anti-bullying policy, and we promote a culture of kindness, respect, and tolerance. We also offer out-of-hours contact for parents and carers who may need additional support.

Parents and Community

We believe that partnership with parents and the local community is vital for the success of our students. We have an active Harbour PTA that organizes events and fundraisers throughout the year to support the school and its students. We also have a school development plan that involves parents and the community in shaping the future of the school.
