Our History: A Journey of Growth and Development
In 1991, Ashlands Veterinary Centre was established by Geoff and Geraldine Hale in partnership with Pam Braithwaite. Following Pam's retirement from general practice in 1995, Anne and Andy MacGregor acquired the practice in 2000 and assumed management on 3rd March of that year. Their stewardship led to the opening of a modern surgery in Glusburn in June 2004, followed by the onboarding of a Skipton branch in 2014. This expansion continued with a refurbishment of Rock Villa, conveniently located at the entrance to Tesco, in 2016.
Our humble beginnings with a single vet, two qualified veterinary nurses, and one trainee in 2000 have blossomed into an exceptional team of 13 vets, including a surgical certificate holder, a medicine certificate holder, a cardiology certificate holder, a feline medicine certificate holder, and two additional vets pursuing certificates. Supporting them are 15 registered veterinary nurses, 3 trainee veterinary nurses, 2 veterinary care assistants, 15 receptionists, an accounts manager, an insurance coordinator, a practice manager, a deputy practice manager, a nurse manager, a client services manager, and a handyperson in 2022. As we continue towards our goal of a purpose-built veterinary hospital, our journey remains rooted in the provision of exceptional care for your beloved pets.
