Welcome to Flora House Day Nursery, a family-owned and managed day nursery located in Darlington, Co. Durham. We provide high-quality childcare to children from birth to 7 years 11 months in a spacious building that offers a homely atmosphere. Our nursery is dedicated to providing a happy, loving, and caring environment where children can learn and grow through play.
Our Services
At Flora House Day Nursery, we offer a range of services to support the development of your child. Our nursery is open Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 5.30pm, with childcare available before or after these times upon request for an extra charge. We are closed on Bank Holidays and between Christmas and the New Year.
We provide flexible childcare options and our staff are friendly and approachable. We are proud to offer Nursery Free Entitlement from the term after your child turns 3 years old, and we deliver 15 hours of free funding to all 3/4-year-olds and 30 hours of funding to qualifying parents. We also deliver 2-year-old funding to qualifying parents.
Our nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which is organised into three prime areas of learning and development and four specific areas for all children aged 0-5 years. This framework helps our practitioners to observe and assess each child as an individual and plan further activities and opportunities to help each child grow and develop.
Our Achievements
We are proud to have been awarded 5 stars by the Food Hygiene Awards for our nutritional and well-balanced four-week menu, prepared by our experienced resident Cook. We have also won the prestigious 'Darlington Heartwise School Food Award' for our commitment to serving healthy and well-balanced meals to the children.
