G.H. Rigby & Sons Limited is a third-generation family-run business with over 75 years of history in engineering and fabrication, serving a wide range of industries including Petro-chemical, Water, and Nuclear. Founded in the early years of World War II under the name Empire Welding, we have evolved to become specialists in pipe supports and fabrications.

Our business is built around a strong work ethic of manufacturing and supplying high-quality goods to our customers at the right price, delivered on time. We take pride in maintaining an excellent supplier reputation, with a quick response and turnaround of work without compromising on quality. Our History

Our journey began at the outset of World War II, employed by the Admiralty to carry out ship repair work until 1944. We then transitioned to repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment used in the open-cast coal industry. Additionally, we started manufacturing household back boilers for the building trade and ornamental gates and railings, which were removed and melted down to assist the war effort.

Over the years, we have carried out maintenance and repairs for the Air Ministry at Burtonwood, and manufactured large-bore exhaust systems for overseas air bases. In 1960, we were contracted to carry out all the welding requirements on the M6 Thelwall Viaduct by West Raymond Piling. For 10 years, we carried out site welding alterations for customers' requirements, such as Sanders & Fosters, manufacturers of industrial buildings.

Since 1966, we have been involved in the manufacture of pipe supports and associated steelwork in the chemical industry.

Our thorough organized system spans from tendering and procurement of materials to manufacture, assembly, and delivery of products. We pride ourselves in manufacturing quality bespoke products, including pipe supports, insulation blocks, platforms, stairways, hand-railing, and ladders to customers' requirements and standards.

We cater to various sectors, including Chemical, Petro-Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Food, Energy, and Water. Our products are manufactured from both carbon and stainless steels, and we adhere to relevant finish specifications, including hot dip, spun galvanizing, or zinc electroplating.
