Making Unforgettable Memories, Your Way

Woodchurch House is a purpose-built home, designed to provide a peaceful and comfortable environment for those in need of nursing care. Situated on the outskirts of the village of Woodchurch, near Ashford in Kent, the home is set in serene grounds and offers a choice of either studio or one-bedroom care suites. Our home is divided into two social groups, one for residents with physical frailty and the other for those with dementia or mental illness. We pride ourselves on offering full 24-hour nursing care, allowing most of our residents to be accommodated within the scheme for life.

Relationship-Centred Care

At Woodchurch House, we believe that fostering and nurturing relationships between residents, their family and friends, and our healthcare professionals is an integral part of the care we provide. Our relationship-centred care philosophy ensures that residents feel supported, valued, and cared for in a compassionate and respectful manner. We understand the importance of maintaining strong relationships with loved ones and strive to create an environment that facilitates these connections.

Care Suites for Nursing Needs

Our care suites offer residents much more space than traditional nursing home bedrooms while maintaining the same level of nursing care and support. With a choice of studio or one-bedroom suites, all residents benefit from en-suite shower rooms, secure entrances to the building, and the option to prepare drinks and snacks in their own kitchenette. We also offer care suites specifically designed for dementia sufferers, allowing them to maintain a sense of familiarity and comfort.

Facilities and Amenities

Woodchurch House offers state-of-the-art facilities and amenities designed to enhance the quality of life for our residents. Our care suites provide social spaces with comfortable seating, dining spaces, and access to a hairdressing salon. We offer a full activity programme, including trips out and sensory corridor experiences. Our communal social areas encourage interaction and friendship among our residents. We believe that creating a home-from-home atmosphere, with nutritious home-cooked food and a caring, friendly environment, is essential to the wellbeing of our residents.

Nursing Care and Support

Woodchurch House is registered to provide both personal and nursing care to our residents. Our in-house team of registered nurses and carers is available 24 hours a day, ensuring that residents receive the care and support they need when required. With Registered Nurses available on-site, our residents can enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing they will not need to worry about moving when their care needs increase.

Maintaining Relationships

At Woodchurch House, we understand that the move into a care setting can often result in many of a resident's key relationships being fractured. We have therefore designed our facilities to provide comfortable and private spaces for residents' families and friends to visit and maintain strong relationships. Our homes organise age-specific events to encourage intergenerational interactions and minimise the possibility of loneliness.

By prioritising relationship-centred care, maintaining strong relationships, and offering high-quality facilities and nursing care, Woodchurch House provides an environment that supports and cares for our residents in a compassionate, respectful, and dignified manner.

Reviews
Negative: The reviewer expresses a strong warning to others to avoid the facility due to the poor care and neglect they experienced.

Poor Care and Neglect

The reviewer, Debbie Humphries, expresses her dismay and frustration with the care facility, rating it 1 star. Her mother was admitted to the facility three years ago, but unfortunately, the experience has been a nightmare.

Lack of Supervision and Accountability

Debbie alleges that her mother was left alone, resulting in falls, and that the staff would cover up their own mistakes, even going so far as to report the family for bruises caused by their own negligence.

Warning to Others

Debbie warns others not to make the same mistake she did, stating that the facility's care has led to her mother's last months being filled with constant pain. She even wishes that the facility's staff would experience the same pain and suffering that her family has endured.
