A song a day keeps the doctor away!

Our Beginnings and Mission

Sing for Your Life began its journey in 2005 as a visionary project with a simple yet profound goal: to improve the health and wellbeing of older adults through the power of participatory singing. We strongly believe that music offers a unique and accessible route to connection, joy, and cognitive stimulation. This unique approach to mental and physical wellbeing has resonated with countless individuals and communities across the UK.

Supporting Care Homes and Local Groups

We partner with care homes and community groups to facilitate regular participatory singing sessions. These sessions are led by experienced facilitators who guide participants in joyful musical exploration and encourage joyful singing experiences. We tailor our sessions to meet the specific needs and preferences of each participating group, ensuring a truly enriching experience for all.

Evidence-Based Approach

Our work is underpinned by robust research and clinical evidence. Our partnerships with the Sidney De Haan Centre at Canterbury Christ Church University and published research findings have significantly contributed to the understanding of the therapeutic benefits of singing for older adults. This evidence has guided the development and refinement of our programmes, ensuring their effectiveness and accessibility.

Beyond Traditional Singing

Sing for Your Life has evolved beyond traditional singing groups. We are proud to offer innovative programmes such as the Silver Song Music Box. This revolutionary tool combines accessible technology with a bespoke piano accompaniment to create a joyful and engaging singing experience for people with various health conditions.

A Commitment to Care and Empowerment

At Sing for Your Life, we are dedicated to providing practical and emotional support to individuals with long-term health conditions. We empower our clients to reclaim their independence, express themselves creatively, and cultivate deeper connections through the simple act of singing.
