Explore the World of Sailing, Relax, and Have Fun!

Cransley Sailing Club is a small, friendly club located in an idyllic valley just a few minutes from Kettering, Northamptonshire. Established in 1967, we pride ourselves on being one of the prettiest inland sailing areas in the county. Our club is run entirely by volunteers, and we offer a range of services and activities for our members to enjoy.

Sailing and Water Activities

We offer regular training sessions and courses in a safe environment, making us an ideal spot for both beginners and experienced sailors. Our recognised RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Training Centre provides training in all aspects of dinghy sailing, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), model sailing, and more. Whether you're looking to learn new skills or simply enjoy the peace and quiet on our club's veranda, we have something for everyone.

Social Events and Racing

Our club is not just about sailing; we also host a wide range of social events throughout the year. From Tuesdays' social buddy sailing and SUP nights to our popular racing programme, there's always something happening at Cransley Sailing Club. Our racing takes place every Saturday and Sunday from March to November, and on Tuesdays from April to August.

Membership and Facilities

Our membership fees are very reasonable, and we offer a range of benefits, including access to our club's facilities, boat and SUP board hire, and discounts on courses and training. Our club is situated on the beautiful Cransley Reservoir, known locally as Three Chimneys, which provides a tranquil and scenic backdrop for our activities.

The reservoir is now privately owned by Cransley Reservoir Wildlife Reserve CIC and covers approximately 75 acres. It's a haven for wildlife and boasts a wide selection of natural habitats, from forestry areas to marshlands, perfect for a diverse mix of trees, flowers, birds, animals, and insects.
