Ryde Town Bowling Club is a premier bowling destination on the Isle of Wight, offering a unique and enjoyable experience for bowlers of all ages and skill levels. With a rich history dating back to 1898, our club has been providing top-notch facilities and services to our members and visitors for over a century.

Our History

Our club has a proud history, with the present site being used for bowling since 1898. Ryde Town BC was opened in 1906, and the present club was formed by an amalgamation of Ryde Town, Ryde Municipal, and Ryde Women's Bowls Clubs. Over the years, we have continued to grow and develop, providing a warm and welcoming environment for our members and visitors.

Our Facilities

We boast two excellent greens, allowing up to 96 bowlers to play simultaneously. Our club is open to the public every day from 10:30am to 5:30pm, and evening games can be easily arranged. Members can use the greens at any time, subject to their use for club matches. Our recently built clubhouse provides excellent facilities, including changing rooms, kitchen, bar, and social area.

Membership and Services

We offer various membership types, including full, junior, and social memberships, catering to different needs and preferences. Our full members can play on their own, join in club play, or participate in friendly games, internal and external tournaments, and league matches. We also offer qualified coaching lessons, catering to all ages and standards.

Games and Competitions

We provide a wide range of games and competitions for our members, including relaxed club roll-ups, spoon drives, friendly games against visiting touring sides, and league matches. Our teams participate in the Isle of Wight Leagues, with three ladies' teams and five men's teams. We also run group coaching sessions for beginners and improvers on Saturday mornings.

About Our Club

Our club is a vibrant and social community, offering a range of activities and events throughout the year. We have commissioned specially designed club shirts, incorporating our club colours, which are used for ladies' and men's league matches, friendlies, and other events. We also host various social events, including spoon drives, social evenings, and meals, which we hope our members will support.
