Belfairs Riding School is situated in the picturesque Belfairs Woods in Leigh-on-Sea and provides an idyllic setting for horse riding. We extend a warm welcome to riders of all abilities, from children to adults, and offer lessons and rides to suit every level of experience.
Location & Hours
We are open Tuesday to Thursday from 8am to 4pm (closed between 1pm - 2pm) and on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 4pm (closed between 1pm - 2pm). We are closed on Mondays and Fridays. Our riding school is located at Belfairs Riding School Ltd., and you can contact us via telephone at 01702 525571 or by email. Our licence number is 18/01833/ANIRID, and we have been awarded a 5-star rating.
Children's Lessons
Our children's lessons take place on Saturdays, and we have a waiting list for regular Saturday lessons. However, we offer school holiday sessions while riders wait for a regular slot. All of our lessons and rides take place in the woods and must be booked in advance. Please check our "What to Wear" page before coming for your first ride and complete the rider registration form sent to you prior to your first appointment.
Children's casual group lessons are available for those looking for occasional lessons or who wish to be included on our waiting list. These lessons are available during school holidays on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We also cater for riders with special educational needs (SEN) and offer private sessions and pony rides.
Adult Lessons
We offer six-week courses of half-hour lessons (one lesson per week) for adults of all ages and abilities. Small groups of two adults per lesson are available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. We also provide private rides for all ages and levels of experience. Our private rides are available Tuesday to Thursday and weekends.
Cancellations
We require a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel a lesson or ride. We will charge a full booking fee if less than 24 hours notice is given, and we will try to re-arrange your lesson or ride. Cancellations for holidays must be made in advance, and we will try to re-arrange your appointment.
