At Pitney Farm Shop, we are proud to be one of Somerset's leading farm shops, offering the highest quality locally sourced organic produce at a price that doesn't cost the earth. Our farm, Glebe Farm, is a 90-acre organic mixed livestock and arable land, where we grow a wide range of organic vegetables and raise a variety of animals, including Saddleback sows, Mule ewes, native breeds of beef cattle, and free-range laying hens. We are licensed growers and processors with the Soil Association and have been farming organically since 1999.
Our Ethos
We are committed to farming organically, working in harmony with nature to ensure that we bring you the tastiest and healthiest produce we can in the most sustainable way possible. Our aim is to produce and sell good quality organic, local food, and we are proud to say that the vast majority of the products we sell originate from Somerset. Vegetables are sold in season and are either grown on our own farm or bought in from local organic farms where possible. Our animals are treated with care and respect, and we ensure that they are slaughtered locally.
Our Services
At Pitney Farm Shop, we offer a wide range of services, including:
- A farm shop open Monday to Saturday from 10:00am to 4:30pm, where you can find a variety of organic produce, including meat, eggs, vegetables, and dairy products.
- A cafe open Wednesday to Friday from 10:00am to 3:00pm, and Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm, where you can enjoy organic hot drinks, cakes, brunch, and lunch.
- Accommodation available in our cabin, perfect for those who want to experience the tranquility of the countryside.
- Events and activities, such as our annual Easter Egg Hunt and Lambing Open Day, where you can get up close and personal with our animals and learn more about our farming practices.
Our Produce
We are proud to offer a wide range of organic produce, including:
- Home-reared range of organic meat, eggs, and vegetables
- Home-made sausages and burgers
- Dry-cured organic bacon and hams
- Seasonal fresh organic vegetables picked daily to supply the shop
- Italian-style dry-cured meats
- A wide range of food and drink products from other local producers, including free-range chicken, buffalo ice cream, apple juice, cider, and more.
