UFMA (Ultimate Freestyle Martial Arts) is a premier free-style martial arts organisation located in the heart of West Sussex. At UFMA, we offer a unique blend of different martial arts styles and techniques, providing our students with a well-rounded and holistic approach to self-defence, fitness, and flexibility. Our club strongly emphasises the importance of fitness, flexibility, techniques, street self-defence, and sparring, making us the ultimate destination for martial arts enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.

Join UFMA: Your First Session is on Us!

We welcome new students to UFMA with open arms, offering them a free taster session at the club. All you need to do is simply fill out the enquiry form, expressing your interest in attending a taster session. We believe that trying out a session before committing to a membership is the best way to ensure that UFMA is the right fit for you. Students must be over the age of 12 years old to train at UFMA as this is a contact club. All you need to bring is jogging bottoms, a t-shirt, and a water bottle. If you are under the age of 18, you must be accompanied by your legal guardian for the first session.

What to Expect in Your First Session

At UFMA, we understand that starting something new can be daunting. That's why we ensure that all new students receive a brief induction at the beginning of their free taster session. During the induction, we explain DoJo etiquette, the session's format, and answer any questions you may have. The induction is normally taken by either the instructor or a nominated senior grade, who will be more than happy to help you feel comfortable and confident in your new surroundings.

UFMA Training Uniform and Equipment

At UFMA, we have a shop available for students to purchase their training uniform and necessary protection equipment. Our shop also sells a range of martial arts products, and all UFMA members are entitled to a 6% discount. To obtain this discount, please click here.

Grading System

Our grading assessments are taken by Chief Instructor Sensei David Washington 3rd Dan. Students must demonstrate all aspects of their training and show good understanding of techniques and display technical ability and spirit to a high level. Grading costs 22 per student, which includes the student's new grade belt, grading certificate, and grade registration. To find out more, please click here.

UFMA Membership

At UFMA, we offer flexible membership options with no contract or tie-in period. Members pay a monthly fee, which can be cancelled at any time if a student needs to for whatever reason. Our Instructors

Our team of highly skilled and experienced instructors are dedicated to providing students with a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. All our instructors are fully qualified and have undergone rigorous training and background checks. They are passionate about martial arts and are committed to helping students achieve their goals, whatever they may be.

Training Sessions

We offer weekly training sessions at East Preston Junior School, providing students with regular opportunities to practise and perfect their skills. Our training sessions are designed to cater to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Our sessions focus on street self-defence, sparring, fitness, and flexibility, making them the perfect way to stay active, healthy, and confident.
