Lymm Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, established in 1881, is a congenial and family-oriented club that offers a wide range of social, league, and coaching tennis opportunities for members of all ages and skill levels. The club is nestled in picturesque woodland overlooking the village centre, providing a private and serene setting for its members. With a membership of over 600 members, the club boasts an active social community in addition to its tennis activities.
Our Facilities
Our club boasts an impressive 13 tennis courts, which include four grass courts and nine all-weather courts. These facilities allow our members to play throughout the entire year, regardless of the weather. Furthermore, we have recently installed floodlights on seven of our courts, enabling extended playing hours during the winter months. The clubhouse facilities are exceptional and offer a welcoming space for our members to socialise and relax after their tennis activities.
Membership
Lymm Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club offers various membership categories to suit every individual's needs. Our senior membership category caters to accomplished players who wish to join one of our high-performing league teams. Meanwhile, our social membership category is perfect for members who prefer to participate in non-playing activities. We also offer junior membership with coaching programmes available for all ages and skill levels.
Social Tennis
Our club offers a range of social tennis activities that cater to all members, regardless of age or skill level. We encourage our members to participate in these activities, enabling them to meet new people and enjoy the social aspects of the club.
League Tennis
Lymm Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club offers its members the opportunity to play league tennis. We participate in the Warrington District Lawn Tennis League and the North East Cheshire Lawn Tennis League. Our ladies', gents, and mixed teams compete in various divisions, providing a competitive and enjoyable experience for our members.
Junior Tennis
Our junior coaching programme runs all year round, providing tennis sessions for all ages and skill levels. Our coaching staff use modified court areas, slower balls, and smaller rackets where appropriate, ensuring our junior players have a positive and enjoyable experience. We offer special squads for juniors who show aptitude, commitment, and a willingness to play and compete regularly.
Coaching
We offer coaching for all members, regardless of age or skill level. Our coaching staff provides high-quality instruction that enables our members to improve their game. We offer individual coaching sessions, group coaching sessions, and special squads for juniors and seniors who wish to develop their skills.
Tournaments
Lymm Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club hosts various tournaments throughout the year. These tournaments cater to members of all ages and skill levels, providing an opportunity to compete and enjoy tennis in a fun and competitive environment.
Croquet
Lymm Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club retains the croquet in its name for nostalgic reasons. While we currently do not have any active croquet teams, we may reintroduce this activity in the future.
