Founded in 2016 by lifelong friends Craig and Michael, BEAR began as a passion project in a shed with a supermarket espresso machine. Inspired by Craig's Australian travels and Michael's Royal Marines background, we identified a gap in the local market for quality coffee and community-focused spaces. Our first store in Uttoxeter became the town's busiest spot, leading to expansion across the Midlands and beyond. Today, we operate eight stores, an online retail platform, and employ over 100 staff while maintaining our commitment to exceptional coffee, fresh brunch dishes, and creating welcoming environments.Our 2023 rebranding refreshed our adventurous, lifestyle-oriented identity, and we continue innovating with compostable coffee pods and our own tea range. With live music nights, pottery workshops, and social packages, we remain dedicated to connecting people through great products and experiences.
