Creating a home from home for people with learning disabilities

Welcome to William Blake House

We are a registered charity, consisting of four small care homes serving the developmental needs of adults with learning disabilities. Our mission at William Blake House is to create 'a home from home' for people with learning disabilities in residential care. We provide each individual with person-centred support and development opportunities in an environment where everyone matters, all stakeholders are consulted, life-affirming activities are encouraged that closely mirror nature and the seasons, and therapies are offered by multi-disciplinary agencies and consultants in line with anthroposophical thinking.

Our Ethos

At William Blake House, we pride ourselves on providing the highest level of care, based on the principles of anthroposophy - a spiritual philosophy founded by Rudolf Steiner in the early 20th century. We believe in creating a nurturing environment that fosters growth, empowerment, and happiness for all our residents.

Our Services

Our services include a range of activities and therapies designed to promote social inclusion, relaxation, and physical well-being. Our activities include opportunities for social inclusion, relaxation, and exercise, which are an essential part of our holistic approach to healthy living. Our therapies include art therapy, eurythmy, and hydrotherapy, which are tailored to meet the individual needs of our residents.

Our Community

We are proud to be an integral part of the local community, with our homes located in the picturesque villages of Blakesley and The Moors. Our residents are encouraged to participate in local village life, and we have strong relationships with local organizations and businesses. We believe that being part of the community is essential for our residents' happiness and well-being.

Our Leadership

Our leadership team is committed to providing transparent responsibility and ensuring that our homes are managed to the highest standards. We believe in empowering our staff to provide person-centred care, and we invest in their training and development to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge to provide exceptional care.
