RJ Mitchell Primary School is a educational institution located in the heart of Hornchurch, Essex. Our school is named after Sir Frank Whittle, the inventor of the jet engine, who was born in the area. We are proud to serve our community and strive to provide the best possible education for all of our pupils.

Our School Day and Drop Off Times

Our school day runs from 8:45am to 3:15pm. We have a staggered drop off system in place to ensure the safety of all pupils. The times are as follows:

  • Nursery: 8:45am - 11:45am or 12:30pm - 3:30pm
  • Reception: 8:45am - 12:00pm or 1:00pm - 3:15pm
  • Year 1 - Year 6: 8:45am - 3:15pm
