Frisby Pre School

Frisby Pre-school is a small, family-run village pre-school nestled in the heart of Frisby on the Wreake, near Melton Mowbray. We are proud to hold a GOOD rating from OFSTED and are dedicated to providing a nurturing, stimulating, and curiosity-driven environment for children to develop and learn. Our vision is to create a setting where every child feels safe, secure, loved, and valued, allowing them to grow into confident and independent learners.

At Frisby Pre-school, we are dedicated to providing high-quality care and education for children below statutory school age. We believe in working closely with parents and caregivers to create a strong partnership, allowing us to help children learn and develop at their own pace. Our setting aims to enrich the local community and create an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming environment for all.

The Early Years Foundation Stage

Our provision is guided by The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), as set out by the Department for Education in 2017. The EYFS principles shape our approach to children's development and learning, focusing on four key areas:

1. A Unique Child: We recognise that each child is unique, capable, and resilient. We aim to foster self-assurance and confidence in every child, encouraging them to learn and grow.

2. Positive Relationships: We understand the importance of strong, positive relationships in promoting children's learning and development. We strive to create a setting where children can form secure attachments and learn to interact effectively with others.

3. Enabling Environments: Our pre-school is designed to respond to each child's individual needs, promoting their development and learning. We believe in creating a strong partnership between practitioners, parents, and carers to provide the best possible environment.

4. Learning and Development: We know that children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates. Our curriculum covers all aspects of learning and development, including social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.

An Exciting and Stimulating Pre-school Environment

Frisby Pre-school is dedicated to providing a stimulating, exciting, and fun environment for children. We offer sessional care for children aged two to five years old, with the following opening times:

• Monday: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
• Tuesday: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
• Wednesday: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
• Thursday: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
• Friday: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Our pre-school offers a wide range of open-ended experiences, led by experienced and knowledgeable practitioners. These activities are designed to encourage children's curiosity, independence, and sense of responsibility for themselves, others, and the environment.

Open Mornings - Autumn Term 2023

We invite all parents and caregivers to visit Frisby Pre-school during our upcoming open mornings this autumn term:

• Monday, 6th November 2023: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
• Thursday, 16th November 2023: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

These sessions provide an excellent opportunity to see our curiosity-approach setting in action and chat with our friendly staff. We welcome everyone to attend, so feel free to share this information with anyone who may be interested in sending their child to our pre-school in the future.
