Nestled a mere stone's throw from the shores of Coniston Water and the quintessential Lakeland village of Coniston, Bluebird Lodge boasts unbeatable views of the imposing Old Man of Coniston, making it the ideal base for exploring this stunning corner of the Lake District.
Whether you opt for our Bed and Breakfast or self-catering accommodation, Michael and Tracy extend a warm welcome to all guests. Our five ground floor Bed and Breakfast rooms all come complete with en-suite facilities, while our two spacious self-catering apartments on the first floor can accommodate up to four guests each. With ample parking, outdoor seating areas, and a location that is nothing short of breathtaking, Bluebird Lodge is the perfect year-round destination for your Lake District adventure.
Rooms
At Bluebird Lodge, we offer a range of rooms to suit every taste and budget. Our rooms are thoughtfully furnished and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
- Room 1 - Superking/Twin with Bath: Benefitting from a newly refurbished bathroom with a shower over the bath, this comfortable room can be set up with twin beds or a superking double.
- Room 2 - Superking/Twin with Shower: With the flexibility of having twin beds or a superking double, this pretty room has its own newly-refurbished bathroom with a walk-in shower.
- Room 3 - Double with Shower: This lovely room has a double bed, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower.
- Room 4 - King Suite: For those guests looking for a touch of luxury, this room ticks all the boxes. It's our most spacious room, with its own seating area. You can wake up to a superb view of the Old Man, and relax in your own roll-top bath, which also has a shower over.
- Room 5 - Compact Double with Shower: Small but perfectly formed, this room is ideal for budget-conscious guests. It has a luxury walk-in shower, storage space and, most importantly, an amazing view! We're sorry, but dogs can't be accommodated in this room.
Breakfast
At Bluebird Lodge, we believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. That's why we go above and beyond to give our guests the best start to their day in the Lake District. We serve breakfast between 8 am and 9 am. If you're leaving earlier than 8 am, we can provide a packed breakfast. Breakfast is pre-ordered the evening before.
Our breakfast menu includes:
- A choice of cereals, porridge (cooked to order), chilled fruit juice, assorted yoghurts, fresh fruit salad
- White or wholemeal toast served with jam, marmalade or marmite
- Freshly brewed tea or Farrar's Coffee
- The Lakeland Breakfast: Sausage and bacon from our local butcher, WF Hutchinson, black pudding, tomato, mushrooms, baked beans, hash brown, eggs (scrambled, poached or fried)
- The Vegetarian Breakfast: Linda McCartney vegetarian sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, baked beans, hash brown, eggs (scrambled, poached or fried)
- Lighter meals: Eggs Benedict - a toasted muffin with layers of bacon and poached egg, topped with Hollandaise Sauce or Home made pancakes served with fruit compote or maple syrup or Freshly baked croissants and pain au chocolate
- Gluten and dairy-free options are available - please let us know your requirements.
Self-Catering
If you prefer to cater to yourself, our two self-catering apartments are the perfect choice. Located on the first floor, each apartment can accommodate up to four guests, making them the ideal option for families or groups.
- Self-Catering Apartment 1 - Mountain View: A fully equipped kitchen with every modern convenience - electric cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and even a slow cooker - means it's a real home-away-from-home. The luxury bathroom has a bath and separate shower, and the dining table in the window has an incredible view. One of the bedrooms has a double bed, while the other can be made up with twin beds or a superking double. With its own central heating system, even winter breaks are cosy, and the flat-screen TV and DVD player mean you can have cosy nights in.
