Ripon Sailing Club is a friendly and inclusive club, open to seasoned racers and novices alike. Our success in developing junior and youth sailors has earned us the status of a British Youth Sailing 'Recognised Club'. Our members have access to the facilities 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and there is a wide range of activities both on and off the water to enjoy.
Racing takes place on Wednesday afternoons and evenings during the summer months and on Sundays throughout the year. As an RYA Teaching Establishment, we offer a range of dinghy and powerboat related courses to our members, providing a quick, easy and safe way to learn to sail. Our courses are taken by fully qualified RYA instructors who are volunteers, and are only available to club members.
Learn to Sail at Ripon Sailing Club
We offer a variety of courses for all ages, abilities and aspirations, designed to help you progress and make the most of your time on the water. Our courses run throughout the summer, with the final programmes of the year in September. Dates are published on our calendar, and bookings can be made for each course once the event is 'open to book'.
We are committed to promoting safe and enjoyable sailing, and all of our courses are designed to meet the requirements of the RYA National Sailing Scheme. Our instructors are experienced sailors who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and skills with others.
Racing and Events
Racing takes place on Wednesday afternoons and evenings during the summer, and on Sundays throughout the year. We host a range of regattas and events throughout the year, including the St. George's Day Regatta, the Streaker Open and the Champion of Champions Trophy. We also host the next round in the regional youth traveller series on Saturday 27 April.
We have a duty roster in place to ensure that our racing programme runs smoothly, and we encourage all members to sign up for duties. This helps to create a sense of community and allows our members to get involved in the running of the club.
