Our eye examinations are carried out by a small group of fully qualified and experienced optometrists. We allow 40 minutes per patient to allow for a full and thorough examination, which includes a full ocular history, general health overview, and specific visual requirements. We also offer additional services such as field screening, Volk lens, and retinal photography to ensure that any health problems are detected early and correctly.
Frames and Sunglasses
We take pride in our eclectic range of designer frames and sunglasses, which cater to all budgets and ages. Our frames are modern, stylish, and of the highest quality, and we always advise the best lens option for each patient, regardless of the manufacturer. We also supply and fit a full range of contact lenses, including multifocals.

Tinson Opticians was established in 1984 by John Tinson, and we have since grown to become one of the leading independent opticians in Maidstone. We have a large loyal customer base, with a diverse age range from 3 to 103, many of whom have been with us from the start. We have moved from our original site in Mill Street to our current location in Middle Row, where we continue to provide exceptional eye care services to the community.
