Iguazu, a family-run business, was established in 2003 by Neil and Karen after they returned from traveling the world. During their travels, they fell in love with the diverse and fantastic handicrafts being produced around the world. However, they soon realized that these highly skilled artisans were often trapped in a cycle of poverty due to the inequalities found in the global economic system. This realization sparked a passion in them to do something about it. They opened a small shop in Beeston near Nottingham University, selling fairly traded gifts from around the world. As interest in their business grew, they expanded to two more shops, selling a wide range of products, including silver jewelry, furniture, and many more.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a platform for artisans from around the world to showcase their talents and earn a fair wage for their skills. We believe in the importance of fair trade and its impact on the lives of these artisans. By importing direct from artisans in Thailand and Java, as well as showcasing fair trade products from many other countries, we aim to bring unique and ethically sourced products to our customers. Our commitment to fair trade has led us to work with over 200 small suppliers, bringing in products not seen in the UK before.

We offer a wide range of services to our customers, including a secure online shopping experience, where customers can browse our extensive collection of fair trade gifts, home wares, and furniture. Our two shops in Nottingham provide a welcoming environment for customers to explore and discover new products. We also offer gift wrapping services, making it easy for customers to find the perfect gift for their loved ones. Our newsletter provides customers with exclusive offers, news, and updates on new products and promotions.
