Colgrain Equestrian Centre is a family-owned and operated equestrian facility located in Cardross, Dumbarton, G82 5HG. Our centre is set amidst picturesque surroundings, providing a tranquil and idyllic atmosphere for horse owners and riders to enjoy.
Our Story
Colgrain Equestrian Centre is the family home of the Spy family - Fiona and Colin, and their son, James, and daughter-in-law, Charlotte. The centre was originally started by Fiona's father, Bill, and remained his home until he sadly passed away in 2013. Fiona, a passionate and highly qualified coach, has a lifelong passion for horses and has dedicated her life to providing exceptional care and training for horses and riders.
Our Services
At Colgrain Equestrian Centre, we offer a range of services designed to cater to the needs of horse owners and riders. Our livery services provide a high standard of care for our equine friends, treating each horse as an individual and attending to their specific needs. We understand the importance of regular exercise, and our horses are turned out daily whenever possible. We also operate a worm control programme for all horses based on regular worm counts and appropriate worming when necessary. Our on-site facilities include two arenas, jumps, a horse walker, tack room, horse shower, solarium, and trailer and lorry parking.
In addition to our livery services, we also offer coaching and training for riders of all abilities. Our highly qualified coach, Fiona, holds several prestigious qualifications, including BHSII (BHS Senior Coach in Complete Horsemanship), UKCC level 3 (Generic), and EFI level 1 coach. She has a wealth of experience in producing successful riders and horses, including her own horse, which she successfully competed to Grade A and competed in several national finals, including the Foxhunter final at Horse of the Year Show.
Convenient Location
Colgrain Equestrian Centre is conveniently located on the A814 between Helensburgh and Cardross on the shore side of the road. Our centre is easily accessible by car, and we have ample parking available for visitors.
