Our History
Anglia Electrics was formed in the early 1970's in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, UK. Over the years, we have expanded our services to meet the growing demands of our customers. In 1979, we opened our shop in Newtown Road, Bishop's Stortford, and in 1998, we expanded into refrigeration service. In 2002, we refitted our shop and replaced our service vehicles, adding experienced staff to our service team. We have also added the prestige name of ASKO to our sales range. In 2005, we decided to concentrate all our resources on service and left our long-time home in Newtown Road. Today, we continue to improve our service levels and accept online spare parts mail orders.

Review: I have just had an engineer visit and I am furious and very annoyed by the service. He arrived on site at 12:34 and had to make a call to his boss to confirm due to the location of the machine. He was told he is not allowed to touch the machine as it is in the bathroom! Due to possible condensation issues. Erm. Excuse me? Then he left. Firstly, I am absolutely disgusted that nothing like this I was informed about, nor T&Cs have been sent to me at the time of booking. Secondly, he had the audacity to tell me to put my machine somewhere else (sorry, I haven't built the house and guess what, there is no other space to put the machine or run the pipes elsewhere!). Thirdly, I wasted a day to wait for him and now I am left still without a working machine. I have a child in the house and an open business and cannot do any washing! Also something you have failed to send. An invoice for my payment.

Review: Our experience was of a rather unhelpful, defensive and, at times, almost aggressive business whom we attempted to use for an out of warranty repair. I simply could not recommend and would suggest finding an alternative engineer. Appreciate others may have a different experience. (Of note, the owner's response to this original review is untruthful and we have since had two independant engineers verify this, but alas, we must all move on with our lives, and luckily an alternative engineer has been able to resolve our issue, whilst also verifying there was nothing incorrect or unsafe)
