Our Story
Menarys was founded in 1923 by Joseph Alexander, the great-uncle of our current Managing Directors, Stephen and Philip McCammon. After buying over Menary Brothers in Lisburn in the 1970s, their father adopted the Menary's name and all Alexander's stores were rebranded. Following rapid expansion in the 1980s and 1990s, we launched our sister company Tempest in 2000 to provide a stronger fashion offering to our younger customers. Today, we have 19 Menarys and Tempest stores, one Store Support Centre, more than 360 members of staff, and over 200,000 Reward Me Loyalty Card holders.
