Peekaboo Nursery is a leading provider of early years education and childcare, offering a safe, stimulating and spiritual environment for children from birth to five years old. We are located in a purpose-built building in the heart of a beautiful park, providing a peaceful and inspiring setting for children to learn, play and grow. Our nursery is open from Monday to Wednesday, from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm, and we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework, which sets the standard for the learning, development and care of young children in the UK.
At Peekaboo Nursery, we believe that every child is unique and capable of achieving their full potential. We are committed to providing a high-quality education that is tailored to each child's individual needs, interests and abilities. We follow the Islamic teachings and implement them through the EYFS, in accordance with the Muslim faith belief that ALLAH is One and only. Our vision is to instil the love and respect for ALLAH in little hearts, while promoting diversity and inclusion, and welcoming children, families and staff of all faiths and those of none.
Our nursery is registered under Ofsted's childcare standards, and we are proud to have been awarded 'Good' in our latest inspection. We are also registered to accept Free Entitlement (FE) or Nursery Education Grants (NEG), and we offer funded places up to 15 hours per week, free for 38 weeks of the year, for children from over two years of age until the term before the child's fifth birthday.
Our Services
At Peekaboo Nursery, we offer a wide range of services and activities designed to support children's learning and development, and to promote their physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing. Our services include:
- A fun learning experience with qualified carers: Our team of experienced and dedicated staff members are committed to providing a caring, nurturing and stimulating environment for children. They are all DBS checked, have additional qualifications such as first aid and child protection, and are trained to NVQ Level 3 and above.
- A lovely environment with a beautiful enclosed garden: Our nursery is set in a spacious and secure garden, providing plenty of opportunities for outdoor learning and play. We have a range of equipment and resources to support children's physical development, such as climbing frames, bikes, balls and tricycles.
- Unique lifetime skills - gardening, languages, science and ICT: We offer a variety of activities and experiences that enrich children's learning and broaden their horizons. We have a dedicated gardening area where children can learn about nature, growth and sustainability. We also offer languages, science and ICT sessions, which introduce children to new concepts and skills in a fun and engaging way.
- Structured curriculum with a strong emphasis on play and enjoyment: Our curriculum is designed to provide a balance of structured and free-flow activities, which promote children's creativity, imagination, independence and confidence. We use the EYFS as a foundation for our planning and assessment, and we adapt our approach to meet the individual needs and interests of each child.
Our Daily Routine
Our daily routine is designed to provide a practical structure that is flexible and adaptable to the needs and interests of each child. We believe that a happy and relaxed environment is essential for children's learning and development, and we aim to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where children feel safe, valued and respected. Our daily routine includes:
- Arrival and registration: We welcome children and their families with a warm and friendly greeting, and we provide a smooth and efficient transition from home to nursery.
- Free play and exploration: We offer a range of activities and resources that encourage children to explore, investigate and learn at their own pace and in their own way.
- Snack time and lunch: We provide healthy and nutritious snacks and meals, and we encourage children to develop good eating habits and social skills.
- Group time and circle time: We offer a variety of group activities, such as stories, songs, games and discussions, which promote children's communication, language and literacy skills.
- Physical activity and outdoor play: We provide regular opportunities for children to engage in physical activity and to explore the natural world.
- Rest and relaxation: We recognise the importance of rest and relaxation for children's wellbeing, and we provide a quiet and peaceful space for children to rest and recharge.
