Welcome to Shooting Stars Nurseries, a family-owned network of children's day nurseries that provides bespoke care and early education for your child. We are proud to have six outstanding nurseries located in Bromsgrove, Hinckley, Kings Norton, Stourbridge, Wolverhampton, and Worcester. Our nurseries offer secure outdoor play spaces and convenient car parking, making it easy for you to drop off and pick up your child.

At Shooting Stars Nurseries, we pride ourselves on providing a high-quality childcare experience in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. Our spacious and light nurseries are designed with neutral tones to create a calming and purposeful play environment. Our outdoor spaces are equipped to provide a range of opportunities, experiences, risks, and challenges that are unique to the outdoor environment, allowing your child to connect with nature.

Our Approach

Our approach to early education is a blended learning approach that combines child-led, open-ended heuristic style play with adult-guided activities. This approach ensures that all areas of the EYFS are covered while providing challenging and exciting opportunities appropriate to each child's age and developmental stage.

Our enabling environments set the scene for our learning approach, allowing your child the space, choice, and opportunity to explore their own unique fascinations and interests without sensory overwhelm and clutter. Our goal is to help your child build strong foundations for future learning, develop good self-esteem, self-belief, and the confidence to 'have a go'!

School Readiness

We understand the importance of preparing your child for school, and we work closely with you to help your child develop the necessary skills. Our staff teams are dedicated to helping children develop the confidence, skills, and independence they need to reach their full potential when they go to school.

Heuristic Play

We believe that heuristic play is beneficial for young children as it allows them to explore and investigate objects and materials using their senses. Our staff teams create a balance between a relaxed, comforting, and nurturing environment while providing challenging and exciting opportunities appropriate to each child's age and developmental stage.

Partnership with Parents

We believe that strong, effective partnerships with children's families are valuable tools in 'getting it right' for children. We work in close partnership with parents to ensure good communication between home and nursery. We provide regular observations and notices on the eyLog app, scheduled parent partnership meetings, and informal chats upon collection. The welfare and security of the children are our highest priority, and we operate a 'Parentcam' CCTV system, giving you secure on-line visibility of your child for total peace of mind.

Meals and Snacks

Nutritionally balanced and delicious meals and snacks are freshly prepared on-site for your child. We accommodate dietary requirements and promote healthy eating habits from a young age.

Join Our Team

We are committed to recruiting the best staff members who believe in putting the child at the centre of everything they do. If you are a childcare practitioner who shares our values, we invite you to visit our Careers page to find out how to join our team.

Reviews
Negative: The reviewers express concerns about the nursery's poor management, staff rudeness, lack of basic manners, inadequate care, disorganization, and bullying behavior.

Poor Management and Staff

The reviewers criticize the management and staff at the nursery, citing rudeness, lack of people skills, and unprofessional behavior. The manager, Kully, is specifically mentioned as being unwelcoming and grumpy, making parents feel uncomfortable about leaving their children in her care.

Lack of Basic Manners and Respect

Staff at the nursery are accused of ignoring parents, failing to acknowledge them, and not greeting them with basic courtesies like "good morning". This lack of respect is seen in their interactions with both parents and children.

Inadequate Care and Supervision

The nursery's cameras reveal a lack of interaction between staff and children, with staff members walking past crying children without stopping to comfort them. This has led to concerns about the quality of care being provided.

Disorganization and Poor Communication

Parents have experienced difficulties with communication at the nursery, including unreturned calls, unanswered emails, and difficulties with simple tasks. This has added to their frustration and concern about the nursery's ability to provide adequate care.

Bullying and Unprofessional Behavior

Most disturbingly, reviewers have overheard staff members insulting children, parents, and other staff members. This bullying behavior has led to a toxic environment, and parents have been forced to remove their children from the nursery.
