Established in 1877, Ashers Bakery is a family-run business now in its fifth generation. We operate 12 retail outlets across the Highlands, Speyside, and Moray, offering artisan bread, pastries, and cakes. Our reputation for quality has led to national and international distribution of our signature liqueur cakes. In 2002, we opened a modern bakery in Nairn, enabling expanded production while maintaining traditional methods. Our award-winning products, including the 2019 Best Morning Rolls in Scotland, reflect our commitment to craftsmanship. We launched home delivery during the pandemic and now serve customers across mainland UK.The current directors, Alister and George Asher, continue to prioritise innovation while preserving the values of our founders. Our team includes fifth-generation member Robbie Asher, ensuring continuity of expertise. We supply major retailers like Scotmid and acquired Smillies the Baker in 2007 to enhance our regional presence. Our heritage is demonstrated through historic shop locations and recipes passed through four generations. This combination of tradition and adaptability has made us one of Scotland's leading independent bakeries.

Artisan Baking
We produce handcrafted breads, pastries, and pies using traditional methods passed through four generations. Our recipes combine heritage techniques with modern quality standards. Products are baked daily in our Nairn facility for local shops and national distribution.
Online Shop
Our online store offers nationwide delivery of signature products including whisky cakes and seasonal specialties. Customers can order curated gift boxes with secure payment processing. Free UK mainland delivery is available on most items.
Home Delivery
We provide Friday delivery within three miles of our Lossiemouth, Elgin, Nairn, Forres, and Inverness locations. Orders must be placed by Thursday 11am. Deliveries require clear instructions for our team to ensure successful drop-offs.
Celebration Cakes
Custom celebration cakes are available for local collection, featuring sponge bases with buttercream fillings. Our designs incorporate seasonal themes and traditional Scottish elements. Advance orders are required for these specialty items.
Whisky Cakes
Our signature whisky cakes combine moist fruit cake with premium spirits, available in multiple varieties. These products have driven international recognition, including export orders to China since 2012. Each cake contains 7% alcohol by volume.

What products does Ashers Bakery offer?
We sell artisan breads, pastries, pies, butteries, and signature whisky cakes. Our online shop offers gift boxes and seasonal specialties with UK mainland delivery.
Can I order celebration cakes online?
Celebration cakes require advance orders but cannot be delivered. They must be collected from our specified stores during business hours.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
Currently we only deliver to mainland UK addresses. International customers can purchase through our local distribution partners in select markets.
Are your products suitable for vegetarians?
Most products contain dairy and eggs. We clearly label all allergens including gluten, nuts, and soya. Please check individual product pages for full ingredient details.
What are your opening hours?
Shop hours vary by location. Most stores open 7am-2:30pm Monday-Saturday. The Inverness Bus Station cafe opens 7am-5pm Monday-Friday. Check individual store pages for details.
