At Woods Farm Shop, we're proud to be a family-run business that has been trading for generations. Our farm shop is located in the heart of Little Hoole, Preston, and we're dedicated to providing the finest, local, home-grown produce to our customers.
Our History
Our business was originally started by Mick Woods, and is now run by his son, John Woods, and his wife Cathy Woods. Our sons also play a crucial role in the ongoing development of the farm. Over the years, we've built a reputation for quality poultry, and our livestock has been expanded to include turkeys, pigs, and cows. We've always supplied to wholesale and markets within the Lancashire district, but the development of our on-site farm shop has allowed us to open the farm to public visitors.
Our Services
We're committed to providing high-quality, fresh produce to our customers. Our farm shop is a welcoming and pleasant environment to shop in, and we're proud to offer a wide range of products, including fresh fruit and vegetables, many of which are grown on our farm. Our butchers counter is filled with fresh cuts of beef, pork, and poultry, many of which have been reared on our very own farm. We also offer a selection of home-made pastries, cooked meats, and preserves and chutneys to compliment the fresh goods in your basket.
In addition to our farm shop, we also offer a purpose-built facility for producing over 3000 turkeys a year. We rear our turkeys from chicks, develop, slaughter, and prepare them to an oven-ready condition all on our farm. We've specialized in White, Bronze, and Norfolk Black Turkeys for generations and have recently introduced free-range turkeys to our selection.
Our Produce
Our farm is the hub of our business, and we're proud to offer a wide variety of fresh produce, including tomatoes, potatoes, beans, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, and many more. We grow our produce in our 12-acre growing space, comprising of open fields and glass houses, allowing us to provide the freshest possible products to our customers.
We're committed to supporting local suppliers and partnering with them to supply the highest quality produce at a sensible price. We believe that there's nothing quite like knowing where your food comes from, and we're proud to be a part of the local community.
