Buckles & Bows

Buckles & Bows Pre-School Nursery, a staple in the Addlestone community, has been providing exceptional care for children between the ages of 2 and school age since 1977. Our commitment to nurturing and educating young minds has made us a trusted choice for families in Addlestone, Rowtown, Ottershaw, Chertsey, New Haw, Woodham, Weybridge, Byfleet, and the surrounding areas.

Our nursery is a committee-run, non-profit making group, overseen by a dedicated team of volunteer parents. We operate from a self-contained, purpose-built classroom within the grounds of the Holy Family Catholic Primary School. While we have a close relationship with the school, we are not a Catholic nursery and welcome families of all backgrounds and beliefs.

At Buckles & Bows, we are proud to be registered with Ofsted and to be a member of the Preschool Learning Alliance. Our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is unwavering, and we are dedicated to creating a culture of safety in which every child is protected from harm.

Our Pedagogy: Helping Children Learn

We believe that children are powerful learners, capable of making progress in their learning with the right support. We employ a variety of effective pedagogical approaches, recognizing that children learn through play, by observing others, and through guided learning and direct teaching. Our practitioners carefully organize enabling environments for high-quality play, allowing children to invent and explore on their own and providing sensitive support and extension when needed.

Safeguarding: Our Top Priority

At Buckles & Bows, the safety and well-being of every child is our top priority. We work closely with children, parents, and the community to ensure a safe and welcoming environment. Our designated safeguarding lead (DSL) is Leanne Rogers, and our deputy DSL is Jenny Vymetal. The chair of our committee is Mike Quinlan, and they can all be contacted with any concerns or questions.

Fundraising: Supporting Our Nursery

As a registered charity, we rely on fundraising to replace toys, books, and equipment, to subsidise parties and outings for the children, and to provide for contingencies. We are grateful for the support of our parents and the community in helping us provide the best possible care for the children in our nursery.

Our Curriculum and Key Dates

We offer full day, morning, and afternoon sessions, subject to availability and entitlement. Our curriculum is carefully planned to provide a rich and stimulating learning environment for every child. Please see our Sessions, Fees & Curriculum page for more information on our offerings.
