Where every visit is a memorable one!

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been practiced for over 3000 years and is deeply rooted in Chinese philosophy. This ancient practice believes that the body is a landscape, and when in balance, it is healthy. However, an imbalance in the body can lead to illness. At the heart of TCM is the belief that the body, mind, and emotions are interconnected, and external factors such as lifestyle, diet, and environment can impact one's health.

At The Centre of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, we strive to understand the individual pattern of illness in each patient by taking into account all these factors. By doing so, we can use acupuncture, herbs, and massage, alongside lifestyle advice to reverse any imbalances and bring the patient back to good health.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an energetic medicine that has been used for thousands of years to treat a multitude of ailments. It involves the insertion of fine needles into the skin at specific points to stimulate the body's energy flow, also known as Qi (pronounced 'Chee'). This helps to remove any blockages and ensures the energy flows freely again, allowing the patient to regain their health.

What is Qi?

Qi is the vital energy or life force that flows through the body's energy channels. When Qi is blocked or unbalanced, illness or disease can occur. Acupuncture can help to unblock Qi and restore balance to the body.

Diagnosis through Chinese Medicine

Chinese Medicine looks at the body as a whole, incorporating the physical, emotional and psychological factors, as well as external factors such as lifestyle, diet, and environment. By understanding these factors, acupuncturists can gain a greater understanding of the individual pattern of illness in a patient and can use acupuncture, herbs, and massage, alongside lifestyle advice to reverse any imbalances and bring a patient back to good health.
