Open Online Theatre (OOT)

OOT is an interactive live streaming platform and digital playground developed by IJAD Dance Company, enabling artists to collaborate with remote audiences and audiences to engage with ground-breaking work. Through OOT Artist Residencies, artists receive training, mentorship, and hands-on experience with emerging technologies. OOTFest, our regular Festival of Hybrid Performing Arts, showcases innovative work using emerging technologies, connecting live and remote audiences via the OOT platform.

Connective Matrix

Connective Matrix round table and panel discussions bring together researchers, artists, thinkers, and technologists to delve into the challenges and opportunities at the intersection of performing arts and technology. These events foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing, driving progress in the field.

Engagement and Research

At IJAD Dance Company, we are dedicated to engaging communities and advancing research in the fields of movement, science, and technology. Since 2013, we have collaborated with science and technology events, using dance and digital technology to explore themes such as space, gravity, and their impact on human health and wellbeing. Our work has captivated over 2000 workshop participants, 100 artists, and 21,500+ audience members (both live and virtual) across 38 countries.

IJAD's Leadership

IJAD Dance Company is guided by the visionary Artistic Director, Joumana Mourad, who combines her training as a dancer and choreographer with her pioneering work in dance and technology. Her innovative and groundbreaking ideas have inspired and moved audiences, earning her recognition as a leading figure in the British dance scene. With her unique perspective and compelling voice, Mourad continues to push the boundaries of what is possible with dance and technology.
