Poor Experience with Home Survey

Missed Defects

A homeowner, who had a home survey conducted by this company in April 2016, reported a distressing experience. The surveyor, Mr. Ogley, allegedly missed several critical defects in the property, which led to costly repairs.

Kitchen Ceiling Collapse

The homeowner moved into the property on July 15, 2016, but just three days later, part of the kitchen ceiling collapsed due to a leak in the bathroom. This was a stark omission on the part of the surveyor.

Further Defects Discovered

Upon closer inspection, the homeowner discovered two additional problems: damp patches in the small bedroom and on the landing, which originated from roof leaks that the surveyor had failed to detect. These defects will require significant expenditures to repair.

Surveyor's Negligence

The homeowner had explicitly mentioned their concern about the roof during the survey booking, but the surveyor still overlooked these critical issues. Independent roofers who were consulted for quotes corroborated the homeowner's findings, highlighting the surveyor's negligence.
