We offer a range of services, including both funded and non-funded sessions for children aged between 2 and 4 years old. Our experienced and trained staff are committed to providing a high-quality education and care for your child.

Our History

Atherton Pre-School Day Care has a rich history that dates back to 1966. We started as a playgroup organised by a voluntary association in Formby Hall, known then as 'Atherton Play Group'. Over the years, we have undergone many changes, including relocating to different premises. In 1997, we changed our name to 'Atherton Pre-School Day Care', and in 2012, we moved to our current location at The Community Centre on Dorset Road, Atherton. Despite the changes, our commitment to providing high-quality care and education has remained unchanged.

Our Team

Our team is made up of experienced and trained professionals who are dedicated to providing a loving and nurturing environment for your child. Our staff have undergone extensive training in early childhood education, and we have a range of qualifications, including Level 2 and Level 3 practitioners. Our team is led by our Nursery Manager, Angela West, who has been with us since 2002. We also have a Deputy Manager, Safeguarding lead, and Room Leaders who oversee the daily operations of our nursery.

Our Rooms

Atherton Pre-School Day Care consists of two rooms: Sunbeams Room and Pre-School Room. Our nursery accommodates children from the age of 2 years to 4 years old. Both rooms follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which assesses and monitors children's development. Our rooms are designed to provide a stimulating and engaging environment for your child, with a range of activities and resources to support their development.
