Maghera Primary School is a caring, friendly community school, where we educate and develop each child to their full potential in order to meet the challenges of life. Our Services

At Maghera Primary School, we offer a wide range of services to support the educational and personal development of our pupils. Our experienced and dedicated staff provide a nurturing environment where children can feel safe and supported. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that includes literacy, numeracy, science, and physical education, as well as a range of extracurricular activities such as art, music, and sports. We also provide pastoral care and support to ensure the well-being of our pupils.

Our Facilities

Our school is well-equipped with modern facilities, including four classrooms, a computer suite/library, and a mobile classroom. We have a spacious playground and a refurbished garden area that provides a safe and stimulating environment for outdoor learning. We are constantly striving to improve our school provision, and we have received generous grants from NGOs to support our development projects.

Our History

Maghera Primary School opened in April 1967, and since then, we have been committed to providing a high-quality education to the children of Maghera and the surrounding area. We have a current enrolment of 104 pupils, and our staff includes a Principal, five teachers, one part-time Special Needs Teacher, four Classroom Assistants, a Secretary, a Building Supervisor, two cooks, and two Lunchtime Supervisory Assistants.
