Flambards Hotel, your home away from home, is a reputable establishment that has been serving guests for many years. Initially established as a public house named The Carpenters Arms, the establishment underwent a significant refurbishment in 2015 and was rechristened as Flambards Hotel. The new proprietors, Mac and Paulette, are eager to provide a fun and friendly environment for all guests, allowing them to enjoy the unique and quirky atmosphere of the building.
Mac and Paulette have been running establishments for many years. They previously owned a public house in Freshwater, West Wight, and a beachside cafe at Colwell Bay. With their extensive experience and desire to provide excellent customer service, you can be assured of a remarkable stay at Flambards Hotel.
Location
Nestled at Llechryd in the beautiful county of Ceredigion, West Wales, Flambards Hotel is the ideal base for exploring the many and varied attractions of Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, and Carmarthenshire. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast, a history buff, or someone who simply enjoys the beauty of nature, our hotel is the perfect place to stay. Take a leisurely stroll by the River Teifi, visit nearby Cilgerran Castle, or take your dog for a run on Poppit Sands, a long sandy beach on the Estuary at Cardigan. The natural beauty of the Welsh rolling hills and many walking and cycling trails nearby will captivate you.
Accommodation
Our hotel has eight well-appointed rooms that cater to the diverse needs of our guests. Seven bedrooms are located on the upper floor, and a ground floor accessible room is available, complete with a large wet room. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities, Wi-Fi, and a TV with Freeview channels.
The disabled bedroom is located on the ground floor and features an ensuite with a wet room, making it easy for guests with mobility challenges. We also have a family room that can accommodate two small children. If you book directly with the hotel, we are pleased to offer a 10% reduction.
Breakfast
Start your day with a full breakfast available to hotel guests in the Tea Room as part of the package. Our breakfast menu offers a variety of options, and we use locally sourced ingredients where possible.
General Information
Flambards Hotel is the perfect location to base your visit to West Wales. We are located right on the border of the beautiful Pembrokeshire, with Haverfordwest just 25 miles away. We have an 18-space safe and secure car park available to all guests free of charge, and free Wi-Fi is available in guest rooms and most public areas of the hotel. A garden with outdoor settees and tables is located at the rear of the hotel for guests to enjoy the Wests' sunshine, and we are working on extending Wi-Fi coverage to the garden.
Accommodation
Flambards hotel offers comfortable and clean rooms with all necessary amenities. The rooms are spotless, fresh, and comfortable, and the whole atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. The hotel has a good-sized carpark for guests' use, and some rooms are dog-friendly. The beds are comfortable with spotless bedding, and a fridge, kettle, and TV are provided.
Food and Drink
The hotel serves lovely food using sizzling stones to cook a great selection of fish, steaks, and other dishes at the table. The breakfast is pre-ordered the night before, and the service is excellent. The vegans are well provided for, and the meat-eaters enjoy the sizzling experience. The food presentation is beautiful, and the food tastes just as good as it looks.
Service
The family-run hotel has excellent service. The hosts, Mac and Louis, are friendly and informative, making a happy and relaxed atmosphere for guests. The staff is friendly, and the hotel's atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. The hosts are happy to make guests feel they are on holiday, even for a short stay.
Location
The hotel is located in a village with a shop and chip shop, but no other amenities. The nearby village of Cardigan and New Quay are lovely places to visit. The hotel is convenient for trips to other wonderful places.
Other Comments
Some guests mentioned that the hotel is more suited to visitors who want to get out and about rather than stay inside the hotel. However, the hotel is a great base from which to go walking, exploring the area.
