Pampering4Paws is a professional dog grooming service located on the outskirts of Ringwood, nestled on the border of Hampshire and Dorset. Our founder is qualified to City & Guilds Level, holding an additional Level 3 Diploma and certifications in Canine First Aid and Animal Psychology. We take great pride in using only ecologically sound products that are gentle on your dog and the environment.

Our comprehensive grooming service includes a bath using specially formulated canine shampoo, clipping, ear and eye cleaning, and nail trimming. We offer an online booking system for your convenience, allowing you to make appointments quickly and easily. If you prefer a more personal touch, we welcome phone calls to discuss your dog's specific needs before booking.

Meet Our Founder

Our founder has always had a deep love for animals, having been the proud owner of five wonderful dogs: Bekka, Tam, Alfie, Jinni, and Lola. After many years working behind a computer, she decided to pursue her dream of working with animals. With the unwavering support of her family, she obtained a City & Guilds Certificate in Dog Grooming, a Diploma in Dog Styling, and a certificate in Dog First Aid. In 2014, she opened Pampering4Paws from her fully equipped home studio.

Your dogs' wellbeing is of the utmost importance to us. We strive to ensure they feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible during their grooming sessions. We believe in positive reinforcement training, which involves training dogs with love and rewards. We use our understanding of canine behaviour and body language to ensure each dog responds well to the grooming process. We offer free familiarisation sessions for puppies or dogs new to the grooming salon.

Our Grooming Process

Every dog is groomed on a one-to-one basis to reduce stress and ensure individualised care. We tailor each groom to suit each dog's unique needs. If a dog needs extra time and calming, we are more than happy to oblige. We do not use drying cages or cabinets and instead use warm air to hand-dry each dog, ensuring they are never left unattended during the drying process.

Regular grooming is essential for a dog's wellbeing. Brushing and combing maintain a healthy coat by eliminating mats and tangles, removing dead hair, dirt, thorns, and burrs, and distributing natural oils to promote healthy skin. We never use muzzles unless absolutely necessary and only for the shortest periods, providing regular breaks and removing them as soon as possible. We believe in the importance of grooming and bathing all dogs, regardless of breed.

Preparing Your Dog for Grooming

To prepare your dog for grooming, it is essential to teach them to stay still and get used to being handled. Use their favourite treats to keep them interested while you gently rub along their back, tail, and legs. Regular grooming at home will also help your dog get used to the process, making their salon visits less stressful.
