Embracing the journey, exploring the soul

Welcome to our practice, where we value the essence of soul-making as encapsulated by John Keats' quote, "The vale of soul-making." We are based in the scenic town of Stroud, Gloucestershire, and our team is spearheaded by a BACP registered counsellor with a commitment to providing confidential and empathic counselling services to individual adults.

Our counsellor offers short-term and open-ended counselling tailored to meet your unique needs. We provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to express what troubles you, giving voice to even the most challenging feelings. Our approach combines attentive listening with a deeper exploration of your thoughts and emotions, fostering self-awareness and personal growth.

Our Counsellor's Qualifications and Experience

Our principal counsellor holds a diploma in counselling from the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC) and is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Adhering to the BACP's code of ethics, we maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and confidentiality.

In addition to our diploma, we have pursued post-diploma training in psychotherapy from Re-Vision (Counselling and Psychotherapy with a Soulful Perspective). This training enhances our ability to incorporate a soulful and Jungian perspective into our work, attending to the spiritual and existential aspects of human experience.

Furthermore, we have completed a three-year training in Somatic Experiencing (SE) as developed by Peter Levine. This approach brings awareness to feelings held in the body and offers ways of addressing the effects of trauma, further enriching our ability to support clients in their healing journey.

Areas of Interest and Specialisations

Our counsellor is currently engaged in an enquiry into the emotional and psychological impact of attending boarding school. This interest stems from a deep commitment to understanding the complexities of the human psyche and how early experiences can shape our lives.

Getting Started

If you have any questions or would like to arrange an initial meeting, please telephone us. Speaking with us on the telephone or meeting up is an excellent opportunity for you to discuss what you are looking for and for us to explore how we might best work together. We are happy to answer any questions you may have, such as:

  • How long does it take?
  • How often do I have to come to see you?
  • How much does it cost?
  • What do I do next?

Our initial meeting serves as a starting point for building a trusting therapeutic relationship, enabling us to understand your needs and goals. We will discuss the counselling process, confidentiality, and any other concerns you may have.

Fees and Scheduling

Our standard fee is 50 for each 50-minute session. We understand that this can be a challenging time for many, and we do have some low-cost places available. Please enquire about availability.

Sessions are typically held once a week at a regular, agreed-upon time. If your circumstances change or you wish to modify the frequency of sessions, please let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy and confidentiality. We collect and use your personal information solely for the purpose of providing you with the services or information you have requested. We do not store or use your contact details for any other purpose than replying to your enquiry.
