Welcome to our optician's practice, based in Swindon, where we specialise in providing mobile eye tests and eye care services to the community. Our primary aim is to ensure that you receive the best possible eye care from the comfort of your own home.
Our Passion
We understand that the health of your eyes is of utmost importance, and having poor vision can significantly reduce your quality of life. Many eye problems are treatable, but it is crucial to detect them early, especially conditions like glaucoma. Since most conditions have no symptoms, a regular sight test is vital to detect any problems early. If you are unable to leave your home unaccompanied, you can have a sight test at home for free!
Our passion is delivering the highest quality eye care to patients in their own homes. We offer both a free NHS sight test and, if required, a complete pair of spectacles fitted with the new prescription. We strive to deliver a personal, friendly, and professional service with the philosophy of treating every patient as though they were our own relative.
Who We Serve
We can visit various places to conduct an eye test, including individuals in their own homes, sheltered housing, day centers, and care homes. We work closely with care home and sheltered scheme managers to ensure that all the patient's optical needs are taken care of, and a written eyecare plan is given to the manager outlining any recommendations that we have. If you are arranging a visit on behalf of someone else, as long as we have the patient's consent, we can inform you of the test results and our recommendations.
Our Promise
We promise to provide you with the best possible eye care. We understand that having a sight test at home is most helpful, and our quality of care is fantastic. Our professional approach to your needs is second to none. We stay close to our patients and offer a wide area of coverage.
Eye Health Guide
We also provide an eye health guide that you can click to find out more. Our guide features quick and easy information about various eye diseases, including cataracts, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, and floaters.
Cataracts are one of the most common eye conditions in the elderly and affect most people to varying degrees after a certain age. The lens of the eye clouds over, which can affect clarity, contrast, and color of your vision. Common causes of cataracts include advancing age, trauma or injury to the eye, and long-term steroid use. Some babies are born with cataracts, and smoking and excessive alcohol intake can also cause cataracts.
Symptoms of cataracts include cloudy or blurry vision, faded colors, glare, poor night vision, double vision or multiple images in one eye, and frequent prescription changes in your glasses. The operation for cataracts is generally required when the cataract reaches a certain level. You would only be referred for a cataract operation if you want to have them removed. You may decide that you are happy to put up with the blur in your vision.
