Established in 1983, Littleover School of Dance has been providing excellent tuition in Ballet, Tap, Modern Stage, Freestyle, Gymnastic Dance, Adult classes and professional teacher training for over three decades. Our school is situated in St. Peter's Hall, Normanton Lane, Littleover and Heatherton Community Centre, Hollybrook Way, Littleover, with classes held from Monday to Saturday for children aged 3 years and above.
Our Free Introductory Session
We offer a free introductory session to all classes, allowing new dancers the opportunity to meet us and experience dance for themselves. The Benefits of Dance
Since my daughter started attending dance lessons at Littleover School of Dance, I have noticed a significant improvement in her posture and a boost in her confidence. She has made plenty of friends and enjoys her time here immensely. Dance lessons provide numerous benefits, including improved posture, increased confidence, and the development of poise, co-ordination, and musicality.
Examination Syllabus and Performances
Pupils follow a structured examination syllabus and have the opportunity to be entered for examinations with the N.A.T.D. (National Association of Teachers of Dancing). Our school has a 100% pass rate, with many of our students achieving distinctions. We also offer the opportunity to showcase their talents in our school show, staged at The Derby Theatre, and provide opportunities for students to represent the school in professional productions.
Child Protection and Safety
Littleover School of Dance operates according to the guidelines contained within the NATD's Code of Good Practice with regard to child protection policies. All of our teachers and staff are checked by Due Diligence Checking Ltd, who ensure our DBS certificates are current. We ensure all of our teaching staff are first aid trained, providing a safe and secure environment for all of our students.
Classes and Times
Our school offers a wide range of classes for children and adults. Ballet is the foundation for all dance disciplines and develops the ability to move with grace and posture. Modern Stage has its foundation from ballet and is a developing style due to changing fashions within dance. Freestyle/Commercial is the dance style performed in music artists live videos, music videos and movies. Tap is a fun way to develop rhythm and an appreciation of different styles of music. Gymnastic Dance is designed to develop strength, flexibility, agility, co-ordination and technique incorporating gymnastic tricks with dance. Our classes are structured and graded to ensure all of our students receive the best possible tuition.
