Staunton-on-wye Endowed Primary School

Located in the picturesque village of Staunton-on-Wye, our primary school is nestled in the heart of Herefordshire. Our school is a place where children thrive, and our dedicated team of staff and governors work tirelessly to provide a secure and caring environment that fosters academic excellence, creativity, and a deeper connection with the natural world.

Our Unique Eco-Friendly School

Our school is situated in a brand new, architecturally designed building that boasts several eco-friendly features, including high levels of insulation, a sedum roof, solar-powered electricity, and an under-floor biomass boiler. Our spacious grounds offer a variety of play areas, including a forest, an organic vegetable garden, a nature area for pond-dipping and fauna/flora identification, a musical woodland, and a football pitch. We even press our own apples to produce juice or sell it!

Staff and Governors

Our team of dedicated staff members are committed to providing exceptional academic results and a nurturing environment. Our teachers and teaching assistants are passionate about their work and strive to support and challenge each child every day. Our governors, comprising of parents, local authority representatives, and a school business manager, work together to ensure the school's continued success and sustainability.

Curriculum and Eco-School Roots

Friends of Staunton School (FOSS)

FOSS is our school's fundraising team, similar to a PTA. As a registered charity, we rely on parent volunteers to organize various events, including the Summer Fair, film nights, quizzes, curry nights, pudding nights, Halloween discos, and more. We need your support to continue hosting these events and raising funds for the school. Join us at our next meeting to meet staff and other parents, enjoy a coffee, and find out what we have planned for the term.
