At Southern Events, we have been in the event industry for over 20 years, providing top-notch services for a wide range of events, from weddings to corporate events. Our journey began in 2002 when Tom Stovold founded the company, which initially started as an entertainment company offering marquees, furniture hire, and mobile nightclubs. Over the years, we have expanded and grown, and as of 2015, we acquired Style Marquee Ltd, becoming a leading event company in Sussex.
Our History
Our story began when Tom Stovold founded Southern Events in 2002. The company started as an entertainment company, offering a range of services, including marquee hire, furniture hire, and mobile nightclubs. In 2004, Tom teamed up with Nick Collins, and together, they expanded the business into marquee and furniture hire. This marked the beginning of our journey as a comprehensive event provider.
In 2015, we acquired Style Marquee Ltd, bringing two of the largest event companies in Sussex under one roof. This acquisition made us a market leader in Sussex wedding catering and catering for all budgets and types of events. In 2016, we developed our catering business into Revived Inns Ltd, working alongside Revived Inns Ltd in a number of pubs, as well as assisting with our outdoor catering services.
In 2020, we embarked on our biggest journey yet, joining forces with Paul and Helen from Whiting Marquees to form Southern Events Group Ltd. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, we continued to support national and local companies with long-term hires, including Covid testing centers across the southeast.
