At Nelson Potter Ltd, we pride ourselves on being a family-owned and run business that has been established for over 35 years. Our company began in the mid-1960s, and since then, we have grown and expanded our operations to become one of the leading timber merchants in the region.
Our History
Our journey began when Nelson Potter started his trade with the Forestry Commission. He later decided to branch out and began trading as a timber contractor, undertaking felling, extracting, and haulage work with a team of men. To complement this, he purchased a mobile sawmill and began to cut posts and rails, which became a growing part of the business. He then relocated the operation to our current site at Bromeswell, where our sawmill has grown steadily over the years.
Our Services
Today, we are proud to offer a wide range of timber products and services to our customers. Our sawmill on site allows us to hold vast stocks of timber, and we have an extensive product range at competitive prices. We supply a variety of fencing products, including concrete posts, fence post accessories, panels, picket fencing, round posts, timber posts, trellis and screening, and weatherboard fencing. In addition to fencing, we also offer a range of garden landscaping products, decking, timber components, garden furniture, gates, wire netting, ironmongery and fixings, wood treatments, and firewood.
