Our retreat is popular with both families and adults only who are visiting friends or relatives in Colchester. We also cater to bridal parties who want to get ready for their big day in style. Our spacious Annexe has ample off-road parking space and is far enough away from the main road to provide a safe environment for children.
Our Accommodation
Our Accommodation at The Annexe offers luxury self-catering accommodation in Colchester. It is a separate building to Scarlett's Cottage and has its own entrance directly on to the shared terrace. The accommodation itself is as private and secluded as you could wish. The Annexe is sold exclusively to you for the time you are with us. It has two bedrooms with a shared bathroom upstairs and a downstairs shower room.
Our rooms are spacious, light, and comfortable, making you feel like you're in your own home. We take pride in sourcing our food from local farms and suppliers, ensuring delicious and top-quality ingredients in our welcome pack.

Scarlett's Cottage is very quaint and hidden away but still within walking distance or a short bus ride from Colchester Town Centre, Colchester Castle Park, Mercury Theatre, Cafes, Bars, and Restaurants for all tastes.

Meet Mick and Sheila, your friendly hosts to The Annexe. We will ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible! We moved to Scarlett's Cottage in 2000 and enjoyed the next 5 years renovating the cottage, Annexe, and the garden. The Annexe was completed in 9 months so that two of our teenage daughters could move in there. Now time has flown by, and they have moved on to their own homes, Mick and Sheila have decided to let The Annexe as Colchester's premier self-catering cottage, as it is too comfortable not to be lived in!
